Al Pacino will play the late Penn State football coach Joe Paterno in a movie based on Joe Posnaski’s best-seller “Paterno”.  The film, which is tentatively titled “Happy Valley”, will reunite Pacino with director Brian De Palma (‘Scarface’ and ‘Carlito’s Way’) for the third time.

Posnanski’s book followed Paterno’s final years as the winningest coach in college football history then saw his career end in disgrace in 2011 with the sex abuse scandal involving assistant Jerry Sandusky.  No start or release dates were announced.
