NFL Week 2 – Highlights, Upsets and more

Cheap shots, replacement referee-gate, coaches arguing, new teams crowned and those that were crowned in Week 1 have fallen!  Just a few things we saw…

  • The Eagles are 2-0 for the first time since Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens led them to the Super Bowl in 2004.
  • The Tennessee Titans are 0-2 and lost for the ninth straight time to the San Diego Chargers.
  • Arizona Cardinals are 2-0 and handed the New England Patriots their first loss in 11 home openers since they moved into Gillette Stadium in 2002.
  • Mark Sanchez completed just 10 of 27 passes for 138 yards in a loss to the Pittsburg Steelers. Is it time for Tim Tebow to take over?
  • Robert Griffin III was crowned in his NFL debut last week in leading the Washington Redskins to a win over the New Orleans Saints.  This week a lost to the St. Louis Rams has de-crowned him.
  • Dallas Cowboys were crowned after week 1 win against New York Giants; week 2 a loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
  • Carolina Panthers 1-1 showed they were a better team than what we saw in week 1. They leave the New Orleans 0-2 for the first time since 2007.
  • New York Giants had a lot to make up for in week 2. Eli Manning throws 510-yards in a come-back win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But in the end; the final play of the game and the “words between coaches” was a bigger upset.
  • Jay Cutler threw 4-interceptions and was sacked 7-times… Chicago Bears loss to Green Bay Packers.
  • Andrew Luck did not play like a rookie in week 2 earning him his first win at home.
  • Everyone is BEGGING for the REAL referees to return!!!!

AND the week 2 finale… If it had not been witnessed nationally on TV, no one would ever believe Peyton Manning threw 3-interceptions in the 1st-quarter.  Falcons strong safety William Moore, free safety Thomas DeCoud and a reserve cornerback, Robert McClain, who was taking his first snap because Asante Samuel injured his neck in the previous play, all have bragging rights of picking off Manning on Monday Night Football.

Those costly mistakes made by Manning resulted in a 27-21 victory for the Falcons over the Broncos.
