The 40th Annual American Music Awards nominations were announced by Christina Aguilera in Los Angeles. Leading the nominees, with four nominations each are Rihanna and Nicki Minaj.
Drake, Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, One Direction and Usher earned three nominations apiece. Carrie Underwood, Chris Brown, fun., Gotye, J. Cole, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Luke Bryan and Pitbull are each double nominees.
In the running for the Artist of the Year award are Drake, Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Katy Perry and Rihanna.
The American Music Awards will be broadcast live on ABC, November 18 at the Nokia Theatre.
